(ACA) American Club Antwerp

We're primary a social club, as you might have guessed. Despite our informal structure, this is a club with quite a history behind it.

The first meeting was in July, 1919. That makes the club the oldest men's club in Europe. The early membership of the club was made up primarily of veterans of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I, plus a few American businessmen. Each year we still take a wreath down to historic Flanders Fields near Waregem where so many of our boys gave their lives, often under miserable conditions in the "War to end wars".

Nowadays, we're mostly businessmen working for American companies, entrpreneurs who have their businesses here, some academics, government employees and a number of retirees. And we're not even exclusively American anymore, but welcome membership from nationals of other countries who are interested in an American atmosphere.
